How can I reuse or recycle scraps of leather ?!
If you have leather scraps you can reuse it to make Leather iPhone Case. and
there is a lot of ideas to reuse the leather scraps .
MATERIALS AND SUPPLIES
- Scrap leather
- Pen
- Standard
- hole punch
- Scissors
- A few binder clips
- Ruler (ideally a square)
STEP ONE
Measure your phone and add ½ inch to the length and ¾ inch to the width.
The iPhone is 4.5x 2.5 inches, so the cut leather rectangles need to be 5 x 3¼ inches.
STEP TWO
Cut out two rectangles to fit your phone and cut ¼-inch strips to use as the stitching. Depending on the length of
your scrap, you may need to piece these together by tying them together end to end.
STEP THREE
Use the binder clips to hold the two rectangles in place when you make the holes, so they line up.
STEP FOUR
Punch holes around three edges of the rectangles, keeping the pieces together.
STEP FIVE
The leather pieces should look like this before you start weaving.
STEP SIX
Trim the ends of the strips so that they are tapered. Begin weaving by tying one end of the leather strip through the
first set of holes.
STEP SEVEN
Loop the leather through each set of holes until you reach the end.
STEP EIGHT
When you reach the last hole, knot it closed.
STEP NINE
Tie another piece of leather strip to the last hole to create a loop if your strip is not long enough.
